Easy Sweet Potato Dog Treat Recipe | 2-Ingredients

Sweet Potato Dog Treats

Can dogs eat sweet potatoes? Yes! They can. But, like anything a human eats, sometimes we like things and eat them, and some things give us a tummy ache. The same thing can happen with your dog.

These easy, 2-ingredient sweet potato dog treats are sure to be a hit with your furry friend. Just give them in moderation. I love my homemade chocolate chip cookies too, I just shouldn’t eat them unlimited.

As you can see, I used a heart shaped cookie cutter. But, you can use any shape or no shape at all. I find that dogs really don’t care what shape their treats are in.

You can use these for an every day treat, for crate training, for anything!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

  • 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2- 4 oz. jars Pureed Sweet Potato Baby Food

    1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit.
    2. In medium bowl, mix together whole wheat flour and pureed sweet potato baby food. May need to add a little water, but no more than a tbsp, to form ball.
    3. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough to ¼  inch thickness and cut with cookie cutter.
    4. Place on greased baking sheet and place evenly on pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
    5. Store in air tight bag or container.

I do not recommend doubling or tripling this recipe, unless you own a doggy daycare or have a lot of dogs. Store bought dog treats are loaded with preservatives to make them last longer. These will not last as long as store bought dog treats. I have not tried freezing these sweet potato dog treats.
